5 Things About Jaimee:
Jaimee Todd is a self-taught artist based in Queens, New York. Born in New Rochelle, New York.
She has experimented with various art forms ranging from watercolor to drawing and ultimately photography. No matter the form, vibrant colors have always been a trademark of her work.
After earning her B.A. from Michigan State University in Interdisciplinary Studies and her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law, Jaimee actively pursued a career in art after relocating to New York City in 2004.
Her background as a painter has fueled her current body of abstract photography work that she refers to as “Inkscapes”, which were the subject of a solo exhibition in 2014. Her Inkscape photography was featured in the inaugural journal of Mfon: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora.
Jaimee has also exhibited in institutions that include the New York Mercantile Exchange and Mint Museum Uptown in Charlotte, NC. Additionally, she is a regular contributor to Postcards From the Edge, an annual charity benefit that supports artists living with AIDS in New York City. In March 2016, her first video installation work was featured as part of the Harlem for Flint benefit fundraiser at the National Black Theatre.
