Means, currently a 10th-grader at Delaware Military Academy, hopes to change the intimidation associated with Science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects for many girls, especially for girls of color.

Affectionately referred to as the STEM Queen, she created a girls' empowerment program - Wilmington Urban STEM Initiative - that emphasizes STEM education and anti-bullying strategies.

Her busy schedule also includes cheerleading and serving as a cadet in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
